Multiple D/L of POP3 mail, broken mailto: link in IExplorer

Hi Pro's:

I need a doctor. Here's the patient and the symptoms:

Outlook 2002 SP2 running in XP-Home SP2, Send mail in
HTML Mode, No Exchange server.
Running on 2.4 mhz., mega memory and huge HD

About a week ago my OL2002 began acting up with the
following symptoms:

1. Will freeze frequently requiring a shut down then
restart in safe mode. It will temporarily fix itself until
the next freeze a few minutes later.

2. The interface between IExplorer and OL2002 is broken,
IE will not open OL2002

3. In OL2002, When I go to open a new blank email
template OL2002 will freeze and then I shut it down with
<cntrl><alt><del> and error message pops up that "OL can't
fine the specified file" then the requested template opens
in MS-Word but is useless as OL2002 has been closed.

4. OL2002 runs a relative slow pace, sometimes at a
snails pace. Screen changes are very slow, mouse click
response is in seconds where before it reacted nearly
instantaneously. and I frequently get error messages
where OL can't D/L from any of my POP accounts.

5. Norton AV slows OL down to a near stop and I'm running
a very fast computer over a 1.2 hot ethernet connection to
the internet.

6. Keeps owner hot under collar!

I'd try a reinstall from the CD but I can't find any
instructions on how to selectively do so and how to
preserve my mail, contacts and other important data.

Anyone got a stack of solutions gimme a shout here or
email at above address:

Hi--Someone in another group just told me to find
the .pst files and make a copy in order to preserve
calendar and mail. Maybe that will help you while you
sort out the stability problem...
