Iexplore

I am sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. After I have already
closed out the iexplore window and get off the internet,
the program still continues to run in the background. That
is to say if I had four iexplore.exe up and then close
them all, then they should no longer be running, but if I
look in the task manager, they will still be running. I
discovered this when my computer was going really slow to
run a calculator program and so I checked to see what
programs were running and 17 iexplores were stored in
memory from different times during the day I had been
using the internet. So I am trying to find out how to make
it so that iexplore is not kept in memory after closing
the program.

Every time I open a new internet explorer window it gets
cashed into memory and bogs it down. I keep having to go
into task Manager to close out the excess progs. How do I
keep it from storing the extra iexplore.exe?

When you open a new IE window it is going to start another
instance of
IEXPLORE.EXE. This is by design, you can't open a program
window without a
program.

I noticed this too. Best you can do is "end task" them. There doesn't seem
to be a pattern with this. Sometimes closing the IE window will leave it
running, and sometimes it won't.
