after exiting internet explorer 6 and now recently updated to 7, windows task
manager retainer two to five iexplore programs which eats up memory. I
usually manually close out the files but it seems there is something wrong.
Any help would be appreciated.

What are your anti-virus and anti-spyware arrangements? What firewall
are you using?

"windows task manager retainer two to five iexplore programs" -from
which tab in Task Manager are you getting this information?

How much RAM memory?

Try Ctrl+Alt+Delete to select Task Manager and click the Performance
Tab. Under Commit Charge what is the Total, the Limit and the Peak?

You should be able to gather more information from Task Manager. With
the Processes tab open select View, Select, Columns and check the boxes
before Peak Memory Usage and Virtual Memory size. What are the figures
for the 6 processes using the largest amounts?

You're in good hands with Gerry. I only want to mention that you can
upgrade to KIS 2009 at no charge.
