multi-boot

Is there some way to install XP Pro on an empty partition of a drive that
already has W2k Pro and Suse 9 Linux dual booting via Grub without having
the stupid installation screw up Grub?

It's a good thing Suse 9 install is way smarter than XP install, because I
was able to get back into W2k Pro and Linux by using the Suse install.

XP Pro gives the error that lal.dll is missing or corrupted, and the kb
article telling how to fix it is out to lunch. It tells you to go into
Add/Remove Programs in the control panel to remove XP from your drive.

It sure is frustrating when Linux is more user friendly than Windows!

Maybe Linux is not as friendly as you think - it's obvious to anyone reading
your post that Linux is screwing up the works .. again. The best way to
remove the grub infestation is to zero-fill the drive. All gone. Then you
can partition and install Windows XP Professional SP2 properly and get back
to computing.

While that is a neat how-to, Carey, I honestly don't see why anyone would
want to follow though with it. Linux is such a screw-up and will mess up any
system it infectsxxx is installed on.

Better dualboots would be:

Win98 SE / WinXP Pro

or

WinXP Home or Pro / WinServer 2003 std. [for those who have it available]
