I have installed MS Office Professional 2003, but whenever I open Access, I
get a message syaing I need to install MSXML5.MSP yet it's not on my
installation disks, and a google search doesn't return anything usefull.
Does anyone know what this is or have the file?

First try the Repair option under the Help menu.
If that does not help, uninstall and reinstall.
You are already using the latest service pack, right?

Hi,

That isn't an Access message, that is being tripped by Microsoft's big brother security system.

MSXML5.MSP refers to a Microsoft security update for W2000 or XP Professional, to fix potential security risks of remote code embedded in an XML file being able to execute.

The danger is minimal - unless you are doing a lot of XML trafficking via the Internet.

Here is a link that tells you more about it.

Hope this helps,

Still have this MSXML5 problem

Thanks for the tips, guys, but the link to MS didn't help. Nether did Repair. This damn error is keeping me from reinstalling Office 2003. It still pops up every time I open Access 2003, but I can close it and proceed. The Office install does not proceed when I cancel this "MSXML5.msp" needed message.

I had this problem on an XP desktop, but found a solution on the MS site. They have no Vista solution for this.

Any ideas on how to kill this message?
