Norton 's registry checker tells me that two files are missing from my
Windows\System32 directory: pxwma.dll and DIMM.DLL. Has anyone got any idea
what these are?

Jess, do a google search for each one. You should be able to download them
if needed.

I would be inclined to run System File Checker and let Windows restore the
missing files.
Run: sfc /scannow

I just wanted to thank you both for your input.

Having problems with missing files also. When I run sfc/scannow -- It says
cannot find file. I tried search also. When I bought this sony computer a
year ago, I didn't get a CD-ROM -- Bought it at Fry's. Any suggestions?
Thanks, Leslee

So, here are some possibilities:

- You were in the wrong folder when you typed the command and the file
wasn't seen there, or in the default path.

- It's necessary to place a space between "sfc" and "/scannow".
I tried search also.

- The file isn't there.

- The file is a hidden or system file and you don't have Search set to
look at that type file.
