mssearchnet.exe

I downloaded an active x the other day to send an e-card from a particular
site. Now I have many popups which seem to originate from a program
"mssearchnet.exe" Even after I remove it from addd/remove programs and also
remove from the registry it just keeps comming back. There is also a program
nvctrl.exe which I think is associated with this.

Any ideas. Thank you

Steps to take if you have spyware that is not removed by Windows Defender
(betª)
1) Open up AntiSpywªre
2) Click Tools at the tºp
3) Click "Submit a Suspected Spyware Repºrt"
4) Fill out the form with as much detail so they can anªlyze quickly.

Have you tried running MSAS in safe mºde?

Also run in safe mode CCleaner with the Issues.

Please submit a Tools, suspected spyware report, and mention what you have
here. I believe this is on the radar screens, but it hasn't made it into
the definitions yet.

However, Lavasoft's Ad-aware with today's definitions claims to remove this
one--so that's where I'd go:
