Hi deansdad

Ok, I think you may did not read the whole thread....

I found that at least 30% of the POP accounts i tried out who are useing SPA
are affected.

Also affected:

- All Bluewin POP services
- Coumpuserve Classis POP3 service on European servers
- Earthlink POP3 services for webhosting (all as far as i know...)
- NSA pop3 server

uuuuuppsss sorry deansdad this are more then 3.... Properly several 1000
(see the earthlink issue...)

The workarround does not work with all services, only with the ones who also
have a parallel HTTP service like MSN....
And does i say this is a solution? I don't think so... A workaround is just
a workarround... some help until the problem is solved.... Ones again: It's
an advantage if you may spend the tim eto read the whole thread exactely...

And this "Workarround" maybe helps some guys to get there e-mail under
Vista...

Ok, "it's just a mather of time about SPA and MSN...." ( this is your
wording) So please explain us why this problem (if it's only a MSN
workplace) also affects PLENTY of other POP services...

And you may also explain why the problem is gone if you patch VISTA Beta 2
with the SPA engine of VISTA BETA 1???? The last VISTA build I found who
does not has this problem is 5270....

Does you mind to give us your full identity and where maybe me and the mvps
of this world can attend your class? Maybe I decide to attend your "connect
the dots" class.... it sounds like a lot of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :))

Sorry if I am repeating known problems. But since installing Vista Beta 5384
on 7/29/06, Microsoft Outlook no longer will send or receive POP3 mail. If
you try to go into "Accounts" and change or reload any of the accounts or
settings, and send a test message, you just keep getting a password dialogue
box that never is accepted, no matter how many times you try to click it. It
appears, however, that a backup webmail account that I have with Earthlink
will receive mail (or at least the usual Earthlink spam).
So I tried to access my msn mail account through Windows Mail (nee Outlook
Express), the latest MSFT mail program that no other third party software or
hardware vendor will ever support or recognize. No luck with POP3 accounts,
although I did somehow receive a peppy "Welcome" message from somebody deep
within the bowels of WM.
Next it was on to MSN, to try and use MSN Mail. It receives. But when you
try to reply or send a new email, it never finishes "downloading" (its
explanation) and it never lets you type in the message body field.
Hotmail works. But it is about as clunky and archaic as playing "Pong".
I don't see this as progress, Vista developers. A fix, please.

I was having the similar problem with the hotmail/msn/office live accounts.
Seems that I got a reply memo from Muicrosoft, stating that they have been
switching over all the hotmail/msn/office mail accounts to the new windows
live mail. It now works functionably in Windows Vista. My account is Office
Live (hotmail base) and is set up as my default login to the Office Live
Desktop Beta mail program. Is configured as a HTTP account to draw off the
server.
