MSN Passport and MSN Messenger

Came accross an interesting situation.

I have a hotmail account that I use for MSN Messenger. I am logging into
msn messenger ok. I try to log in to hotmail and I get directed to MSN
Passport site to enter my user name and password. Here is where the problem
lies.

ON an XP computer, I put in my username (e-mail address removed) and password. The
login page repeatedly returns over and over and never logs into hotmail.

ON an Win2000 computer, I accomplish the same thing and I get into hotmail
just fine. I know i am entering the username and password ok.

1. On XP I have cleared the blocked sites list and reset security to medium
the same as Windows 2000 but no change.
any clues???

You aren't logged onto another computer that automatically connects you to
messenger at the same time, are you?

No, I make sure I am logged off the 2000 system when logging in on the XP
and vice versa.
