MSN Messenger

Can anyone help me understand what is happening with MSN Messenger?
The problem I am having is that Messenger seems to have a mind of its own.
It is logging me in when I open Outlook Express automatically, even though I
have the settings in Outlook Express NOT to log me in automatically. In
startup I have Messenger set not to start. Even uninstalled Messenger 7.5
trying to rid the program, but as you know it reverts back to version 4.0
that came preinstalled. Have not found yet how to delete that if I could.
I would like to keep Messenger on my computer, but can't seem to solve the
automatic signing in when logging into Outlook Express!
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thanks,
Darron T.

Are you sure you don't mean Windows Messenger is opening?

Remove Windows Messenger:

They are similar but not the same. One is MSN Messenger and one is Windows
Messenger, one comes by default and is downright bothersome when you using
the contacts pane in OE, and the other isn't nearly as intertwined. One you
get gratis, the other you download. That sort of stuff...

Thanks so much for the reply.
Yes you are correct, I thought they were the same messenger, thanks for
clearing that up.
Removing today for sure! But can I download MSN Messenger now and run it
without affecting my Outlook Express?

Thanks again,

You should be able to. I don't see why not. If you find that it's still
interacting after the fix at Doug's site then let us know.
