msn Messenger

I have no sounds on Messenger. I have gone to Tools-Sounds and tried to
reconfigure the sounds, but not sure of what to put in the "save name as" bar
when I pick a sound to play ie Nudge, I do have audio, and winks sounds or
when I play any other games, or music from media player etc, It is only on
the notifications from messenger i.e when somebody nudges me or comes on line
I dont hear anything, the other party I ma with on line can hear the variuos
sounds if I nudge them , No problems from their side.
I have checked all the proper boxes in Messenger tools ( Alerts and sounds )
any help out there with this please?

well I can see them there NO problem! and the various sounds are showing in
the "Sounds and Properties" box under Msn messenger, and I can hear them
when I click play preview when I select the appropriate noise- BUT I would
like to know what is supposed to be in the SOUND scheme bar at the top of the
" Sounds and Properties box - I have a plain blue bar or windows default or
No sounds. Which ONe is supoosed to be in there? I have tried all types and
still no sounds on Messenger nudges etc.

Configure sounds the way you like then press Save as...
name it something catchy like myTweets so you remember its your
personalized sound thyme.

Thanks Bum tracks, well thats answered one question!! BUT and I still dont
have sound on Messenger notifications, AND I spoke to MSN and told them the
problem, they told me to check my registry files! I DID ,[ I already had,] (
and I checked them against C:\Programmefiles\messenger- YEP they are all
there!! and they are intact and no sounds missing , and I double checked the
Hot Key Current User, Events the Apps-the Schemes, and I was darn careful not
to change anything that looked as if it was default or current and they all
matched what MSN told me to check so NOW what do I do!???
actually Im not thick but sometimes theses things just leave me baffled. I
have even done a safe clean boot on this ands dis-installed and reinstalled
MSN 7.5 and still no JOY??

I dunno

I look in control panel sounds.
scroll down to MSN Messenger, not Windows Messenger.

Below the MSN Messenger header I see 'Nudge' with a little speaker icon,
The speaker icon means that Nudge sound is activated,
no speaker icon infront of Nudge means that sound is turned off.

I highlight that Nudge and a bit below it, it shows the path;
C:\Program Files\MSN Messenger\nudge.wav


Does yours look like that ?
