MSLS.DLL crashing IE

After installing updates to Windows XP Home, Internet Explorer crashes every time the yahoo page is loading. It crashes also when I paste text into any textbox or press enter in the textboxes within the webpages that I view (message boards....etc) Upon viewing the error report, I found out that the dll MSLS.DLL seems to be crashing IE so I deleted it and the problem was solved..

but I wonder why it does so and prehaps there may be other frustrated users who need help.

Do you know what program msls.dll belongs to?
That would be helpful information.
I have often found that Microsoft type error reports
(System Properties | Advanced tab | Error Reporting)
such as "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and needs to close" are the result of spywares and or
viruses running on the system.
Have you ever scanned your system with an Anti Spyware
or Anti Virus program?
