msinfo32.exe opens help & support center

Whenever I use msinfo32.exe, the Help and Support Center
opens. I have found a few other postings that deal with
this problem, but thus far, I can't seem to get anything
to work.

The following entries that are supposed to reference
msinfo32.exe appear to refer to the correct paths:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSInfo

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\AppPaths\msinfo32.exe

Does anyone have a solution for this?

Hi!
Try this:-
Open a command prompt window. Insert your XP CD into the drive and enter
the following command:

EXPAND -R X:\I386\MSCONFIG.EX_Z:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\BINARIES

William;
I have a similar problem. No solution. But I have a work around that
works for me.
Start/Run/type: msinfo32 /showcategories (or copy and paste). This
will open System Information and not give you a run around.
Hope this helps. Let us know.
Wes
