I am doing a repair.

Have tried ending task in task manager as suggested in
other posts. Error just keeps popping up. Also renamed
the file. Get "Component not found". Then tried putting
the original file from the CD on there (had diff date).
Still no go.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Found the solution:

First download the file from here:

Extract "MSDART_271.DLL" from the file

Boot off your CD and go to Recovery Console.

Copy the file as MSDART.DLL to c:\windows\system32

Good to go.

Not sure how this will affect other components, though.
MS should check that out.
