I'm using Windows XP Professional. When I try to run msconfig, the window
does not stay open - it closes right away. This is the first time I
experienced this problem. I'm trying to modify my startup programs, but
can't because the window disappears.

Would appreciate any help that can solve this problem.

Hi Gene,

Use the first script to allow you to open msconfig. From there either check
the Task Manager to end the process to the worm(s) and/or run the second
script that will list the running processes and run keys for you.

Hello!
t
1st scan with latest virus definitioned antivirus. If it's
okay:then>
To extract: Open a command prompt window. Insert your XP CD
into the drive and enter the following command:

EXPAND -R X:\I386\MSCONFIG.EX_
Z:\WINDOWS\PCHEALTH\HELPCTR\BINARIES. This will extract a
new copy of the MSCONFIG.EXE from the CD.
