MSCONFIG Startup Items

Where can I find the descriptions for items listed in MSCONFIG STARTUP and
if it's safe to uncheck any of the boxes? I think there are some programs
running in the background that may not be necessary and are slowing down my
processor. In particular, there seems to be a Symantec shared program
called "ccAPP.exe" that doesn't close right away whenever I restart or close
down Windows..... I get a window and progress bar that shows the program is
ending. After that completes, Windows shuts down or restarts. Thanks.

You could either browse alphabetically or do a search on the process name.

ccApp.exe is part of Norton's AV software.
