I recently checked my msconfig startup tab.
One checkbox which has a check mark in it has no startup item name, just blank. Also there is nothing under the command column.
The locations column reads:
HKLM-software-Microsoft-windows-current version..........
Is this normal?
How can I check what this item is?
I have up to date spyware program ( spysweeper) and spywareBlaster as well as current AVG anti virus so i don't think it is spyware or other nasties.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hello
It is nothing serious it is a program that has been removed, you can safely
uncheck it and it will disappear.

Thats the location in the Registry where this item is stored. If you click
'Start' > 'Run' then type regedit > click into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >Software
Microsoft >Shared Tools > MSConfig > click into the folder 'startupreg' or
'startupfolder' you will find the name of the program starting up. This can
be any program from Microsoft to spam. Looks like it was already uninstalled
at some point. If the folder is deleted from here it will disappear from the
msconfig startup area.
