MSConfig Help Needed

My system was taking too long to load windows, and I noticed I had mulitple
processes running for the same program. In msconfig, my system configuration
utility, I noticed I had multiple instances of many files loading.

I know I can uncheck the, but is there a way to remove the duplicates from
the startup tab? All the duplicates have the same file location and registry
entry.

Thanks.

You will need to edit the windows registry. For more details check out this

I would look a little further into this situation. Just because multiple
processes are running the same program does not mean that they are all doing
the same thing.

I have been in the registery and only one instance is listed for the multiple
items listed in the Startup page of MSConfig.

As an example, I don't need 6 instances of DellMMKB running. After
unchecking the duplicate files, XP boots normally now. All I want to do is
remove them from the lest so XP doesn't give me the windows is running a
Selective Startup message box.
