Recently I was in msconfig trying to eliminate some of the programs that autostart in my system try when I turn on my computer. While scrolling through the list I saw "msblast.exe." I know I did once have the blaster worm but thought I had gotten rid of it! I did a search of my hard drive and found no msblast. Is it possible that the option to have it restart is still in my msconfig but that the program no longer exists on my computer? If I DO still have the worm, how do I get it off for good?

Please email any responses

It is very possible that the msconfig line remains after fully removing the
worm. This often happens when start up programs are removed without a true
uninstall program which deletes corresponding registry entries. The
registry can be edited directly to remove this, but I would suggest you
download and use Startup Cop - a handy utility from http://www.min.net.

First step is NOT to publish your email address in USEnet.
