i had gotten the blaster worm months back. took all the steps (i think) to get rid of it. my pc is certainly no longer suffering the effects of the worm.

but i was in msconfig a few days ago and noticed that one of the startup items is msblast.exe.

anyone know why this is showing up there? it shouldn't be there right? how do i clear that from that startup list?

See Tip 148 in MVP Kelly's site: Clear Disabled Items from Msconfig Startup
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

NOTE: The disabled startup items are moved here:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig\startupreg]
