MSBlast patch cannot be applied

I have a big problem with a users winXP.
It began to close itself by a RPC problem. I know it is sometihng about
MSBlast or some worm. So first i scanned computer with Symantec's FixBlast
software. It couldn't find anything. Then I downloaded the security patches
from microsoft.com. which are "WindowsXP-KB823980-x86-ENU" and
"WindowsXP-KB824146-x86-ENU". But when I start them they close itselves
after 10 seconds. Never finish installation. By the way Symantec Antivirus
didn't start at startup.

plz help. urgent
