MSAS -- Empty Window

Hi there,

may have been asked anywhere but didn't find the answer...
I can't get MSAS to work properly. After (error free) installation, the main
window is empty, so there are just the menus and the icons for Scan, RT
protection and advanced tools. Klicking RTP or Adv. Tools leads to nothing,
klicking Scan shows the scan windows but then, after klicking "Run scan now"
again nothing happens and the window is empty again.

As usual: de- and reinstalling and cleaning the registry from every
recognizable entry doesn't help...

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Try these two solutions:

You can repair Windows AntiSpyware using Add or Remove Programs in Control
Panel. Click Microsoft AntiSpyware and click Change. Click Next, and then
click Updªte.

Then, try these steps:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> type in -> command)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quºtes).
3) Close and re-open Windows Defender.

You can go ahead and do both of these--neither has any downside risk--and
see if that does the job.

Let us know whether it does, or nºt!

Hi Engel,

thanks, but -- as I said -- I can repair or de- and reinstall again and
again; it still won't work.

Same for the VB Virtual Machine: I've tried several versions up to
(currently using) 6.0.97.82, unregistered them, registered again; the error
stays. It even doesn't matter if I register this file at all: no change!

Sorry... any more clues?

Thanks in andvance,

This thread may be dead, but a similar sounding issue elsewhere apparently
involved Windows OneCare Live. Is that app installed?

Hi Bill,

indead, it seems to be dead...

Nope, no other application that -- as far as I know -- might be "dangerous"
ist installed on the given system.

Strange...
