MS Word

My Compaq computer came loaded with Windows 98 and MS
Word (I did not receive a disk for Word). I recently
upgraded to XP and now every time I open Word it states
that a registry is missing. Word is also not being
detected by other programs such as Quickbooks. Any
suggestions?

That's an OEM version of Word that was only licensed on the original setup.
Without actual Word installation CD your only choice is to purchase a stand
alone version that will allow you to install on future setups with later
versions of Windows.
