I have had problems with my existing MS Windows ME software on my computer
and attempted to use my restore disks and reload it. One of the disks was
damaged and would not load properly. I have purchased new XP operating
system but it is for full installation on not upgrade. How do I remove old
ME system to enable loading of XP operating system??

Since this is the full retail version, you can use it for either a clean
install or to upgrade your Windows ME operating system. You will be given
these options as part of the installation.

Assuming that there is nothing on the hard drive worth saving, start the
computer and press whatever key is necessary to enter the system setup
(BIOS).. set the computer to boot from CD.. save and exit..

This website will take you through the installation process..
