Hi All
Interesting one this. Noticed during the past couple of weeks that on
bootup I get the Windows Update warning shield appearing briefly in the
startup box, when I float my cursor over it never goes beyond 0%. Have
started to try and manually update through Start, Help & Support, Pick a
task, keep your computer up-to-date with Windows Update. The 'Connecting
Windows' appears, checks to see if I have the latest software to check to
see if I have a genuine copy of Windows (I do), and I', then asked if I want
express or custom check. It does not matter which I choose, it goes into
check mode and within 40 seconds it knocks out my wireless modem. The only
way of getting the network back on line is to manual re-set the modem!!
Anyone got a clue as to what is happening here? This is the only instance
of my network being killed off by any form of software, it is as stable as a
rock until I start the update process.
