MS ramdisk

Hi All,
Have anybody tried to install the Microsoft Sample Ramdisk to XPE? I
have created a component from the .INF and .SYS files and included it
into my configuration. But there is no a RAM disk in the post-FBA
system. It appears only after copying some registry entries from an
XPPro machine (Enum\Root\UNKNOWN\0000....) and rebooting. Any ideas how
to automate Ramdisk installation?

Hello,

If you have the registry data that makes this work add it to your custom
component created from the INF.

As Brad already said, you just have to add the registry entries missing. RamDisk is a software driver and PnP won't just install it
from INF file.

Another way for you to handle that properly would be importing INF in CD and making a component out of it.

Btw, that driver works just fine on XPe. I had it working a couple of years ago on my XPe images. But I also did some changes in the
driver source code (it is W2K driver). Search MS KB for more info about changes in that driver to adopt it for XP.
