MS Photo Editor and Win2k

I have Win2k on my puter, but want to load MS Photo Editor. As y'all know,
Win2k does not include Photo Editor. However I have it on the Win98 CD. Can
I safely load just Photo Editor from the Win98 CD without messing up Win 2k
on my puter? I do not want to overwrite something and cause drastic
indigestion to Win2k.
Helo please.

AFAIK, MS Photo Editor is not included in Win98 or Win2K or any other Windows
OS, it's part the MS Office suite of applications and I believe it's also
included in the setup for the standalone version MS Word.

Microsoft Photo Editor doesn't come with any version of Windows. It's
a component of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Photo Editor is kind of an interesting application. As the others pointed out Microsoft Photo Editor does not come in
any version of Windows. MSPAINT does and Kodak Imaging does but that's it. Maybe Draw???

Now PhotoEditor can be used without even installing it. Nice because if you do install it (from Microsoft Office 97
\2000\XP) then it will change your image associations.

What you can do is copy the folder in the Setup CDs called PHOTOED to C:\Program Files say and make a shortcut
to PHOTOED.EXE. Now you have Photo Editor can remove it easily if you want and your image associations won't
be tampered with. Only trouble is OLE registration won't include Photo Editor but if that's a big deal that also can be
fixed.

Yes, George is correct, you can use photo editor this way. But I think you
will have trouble printing your photos.

I'll have to try that. I think after a while it may register itself but we'll have to see about that. Thanks for the heads up.
