MS Outlook - Inbox Rule - "Delete" AND "Mark as Read" - Possible?

Rules can move e-mail from the "Inbox" to "Deleted", but the e-mail is still
"Unread". The "Notification area - You've got mail" icon is still turned on.
I would like the rule to also change the e-mail to "Read" at the same time.
Is this possible? If so How?

You can select both the "Delete it" and "Mark it as read" actions on the
same rule. However, that won't affect the new mail icon in the notification
area. It will still appear.
