I can't receive emails on outlook 2003....everything was working fine for
many months/years and then 'can't connect to server....' I can get all
emails on 'live' but not in outlook.......do I reinstall outlook? is
everything lost?(emails) or do they ''reappear and update to current date?''

yes and also tried 'synch' again and still the same...all other emails sent,
even 'test' emails do not go through on Outlook

Does your antivirus application actively scan your incoming and outgoing
email? Try disabling it to see if that makes a difference.

How often do you poll for mail? If you're polling more often than 10
minutes, that could be an issue as well.

Can you please post the content of the error message?

I poll, or use to poll for mail on outlook at least every hour....antivirus
does scan actively....did the diasble...no difference.....message is:
"Task 'MSN:Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported error (0x800CCC0D)
: 'The server could not be found.'
However, I am on the server and get emails using same email address without
problems...just outlook does not work to get or send emails...always same
message..

That error is your Anti Virus Scanning your incoming and outgoing emails. Disabling this option in your Antivirus unfortunately does not work sometimes, especially if you are using Norton ,MacAfee. You need to uninstall the Anti Virus suite and then re-install without the email integration
