MS Outlook 2003 - Any email with attachment crashes Outlook.

S

S. Burhan KURT

Hi,

This mail is about a problem with MS Outlook 2003, i hope i would find
some help around here.

The problem is that i can not access to emails with attachment files.
Whenever i try to open an email with attachment MS Outlook 2003
crashes and restart follows as well.

Re-installing ms office does not work. I tried many times before.
Also i tried re-installing windows after formatting hdd, for a while
it seemed to be ok with the clean install but after a few weeks
passed, the same problem occured. Probably there is a conflict with
another software or smth. It drives me mad!

My OS is Ms Windows XP - SP2 on an IBM ThinkPad R40 laptop.
Autoupdates are enabled and all available updates are installed.

Does this also occur when you disable the virusscanner and/or the virusscan
integration with Outlook?

Robert, I have the exact same problem as Burhan with
Outlook. I cleaned my machine of spyware and viruses and
turned off all startups and even started in safe mode but
nothing worked. Can you suggest anything else?

Does it still happen after you deleted the Temporary Internet Folder?

Or clear the OutlookSecureTempFolder through a command prompt?
You can find your OutlookSecureTempFolder by going to the following registry
key;
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Outlook\Security]
