MS Notepad Hangs

Hello,

I am having a problem with MS Notepad (Win XP Pro SP2).

Notepad frequently hangs, and I cannot flush the occupied process
thread with Windows Task manager. To close Notepad, I must reboot my
system.

Problem started occuring a couple weeks ago; I have no idea why.

Can anyone advise?

Are you on a network?

If so, then perhaps you have contention issues with your network/servers.
