MS mouse & keyboard on laptop won't switch back to normal...

Dave Satchell

I have a toshiba laptop (new) that I connected to my desktop monitor and
keyboard with a belkin omniview kvm and everything works great after I
loaded the software for the mouse and keyboard.

My problem is that when I disconnect the laptop and take it on the road
it thinks that the MS mouse and MS keyboard are still connected instead
of the laptop keyboard and the touchpad mouse on the laptop.

* The MS mouse is a Intellimouse Explorer USB and PS/2 compatible (optical).

* The MS keyboard is a Office Keyboard (USB)

* The belkin omniview is a 2 port PS/2 and USB model but I have the MS
mouse and keyboard connected to the USB.

I need to the software to recognize that the mouse and keyboard are
connected via the USB on the laptop and when they are disconnected that
the OS should switch back to the integrated keyboard and mouse.

Can anybody help on this?

Thanx, Dave.

I connect keyboard and mouse direct via USB port with no KVM on a
Toshiba laptop. When doing so, BOTH internal and external devices work
just fine, and am able to disconnect the external devices with no ill
effect. Try it without the KVM.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
