Ms-dos error msg, plz help!

i get this message when trying to install half life:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft windows
applications. Choose "close" to terminate the option.

I choose Ignore and still nothing happens. Please sum1
help me with this i really wanna play hl!! I have windows
xp.

Read all the Microsoft bulletins and follow the instructions may help but I
think you will find that your Autoexec.nt file keeps disapearing from your
\system32 folder. If you have a folder named Windupdate not Winupdate in your
\program files area, delete it! There is a program in that folder called
Windupdate.exe that is causing the damage! Also delete you registry enities
that say Windupdate. Now put back a good copy of your Autoexec.nt file back
in your \system32 folder. You are not alone in this problem and it's growing.
