MS debugging program ??

Has anyone used the MS debugging program and has this caused more problems
then it will fix? I have a video program( Ulead Video Studio 8)that is not
working correct and their support people say my OS system has been corrupted.
So I need a program to fix with out reloading Windows XP . What should I do
all other program work OK and I have no other issues.

Have you tried the scannow function? This will check all your windows system
files and make sure they correct. Go to your command prompt
start>allprograms>accessories>command prompt and then type this
in....sfc/scannow you have to have your xp disc in also
