How can I find a patch to get rid of msBlast that
recognises XP with a 2505 build. I can only access
patches tha twork on xp build version 2600

Thanks for any suggestions, as this is driving me crazy

Greetings --

You cannot. WinXP build 2505 was, if memory serves, the Release
Candidate 1 version used during WinXP's public preview phase. Your
license to use that specific build expired on 25 Oct, 2001, when WinXP
was released to the retail market. No service packs or patches have
been made available for it.

You need to purchase and use a legitimate full retail copy of
WinXP Pro to perform a repair (a.k.a. in-place upgrade) installation,
using the new CD and Product Key.
