Removing Installation Files for Windows XP Pro

Hello there,

I have a old Windows XP Build 2505 computer and I want to upgrade to Build
2600.

The problem is I have another incomplete Windows XP Professional
installation, and I want to remove the installation files for that version
then do the upgrade. Where are the files located and how do I remove them?

(don't worry about CD key, activation, etc. I have one)

Thanks,
Neon Zidane

start-up, i have to choose which OS i'd like to log-in to but the 2nd one is
not working for the installation is not complete (i cancelled it), i tried
reformatting the drive where i supposedly installed the OS (that was
cancelled) but i still have to deal with it during start-up.. any ideas on
how i could completely get rid of the incomplete windows Xp pro installation?
tnx a lot!

From within WinXP, Start > Run > Msconfig, Boot.ini Tab > "Check
all Boot Paths."

Manually:

1) Click Start > Run, Type "Cmd" and then press <Enter>.

2) Type "Cd\" and then press <Enter>

3) Type "Attrib C:\Boot.ini -h -r -s" and then press <Enter>

4) Click Start > Run, Type "Notepad c:\boot.ini" and then press <Enter>

5) Edit the file to removed the extraneous line, save it, and then exit
Notepad.

6) Type "Attrib C:\Boot.ini +h +r +s" and then press <Enter>

7) Close the command console.
