MS Antispyware Expired on Dec 2005

Hi, I have been using MS Antispyware for the past 6 months, then some

I think your version of Microsoft Antispyware expired.

Open Windows Explorer, and go to \program files\microsoft
antispyware\gcasSwUpdater.exe and double click on that--it has an icon that
looks like a satellite dish.

See whether that brings you a prompt for an update to the program that will
change the expiration date.

Mike, should I uninstall the AntiSpyware version I currently have before
installing this one you suggest? Also< I noticed this one is called Windows
Defender...

Windows Defender is the final name decided on for the beta product which
started as Microsoft Antispyware.

You can simply run the Windows Defender install--it will remove your current
Microsoft Antispyware, and replace it.
