I'm getting this error as described in Microsoft KB below. I installed SP4
as suggested, but the machine still crashed a few hours after the Service
Pack upgrade. HELP!

Thanks. The hotfix is still available for that without SP4 installed. You could have called Microsoft's 1-800 number asked for it by KB article and they would have sent you a link to it. No cost.

But now we are at the issue of why the crash still occurs with SP4 installed. If you had got the hotfix you may have been able to open an incident report with them and gotten support on the issue. Since you didn't all I can suggest is remove SP4, call and get the hotfix. When it doesn't work use your job account for the hotfix (SRX####...) you get and continue with them. But be sure the blue screen STOP is the same as in that article except for the 4th parameter.

OK, thanks....I might point out that this SEEMS to have started after
installing SBC Yahoo/DSL. Although, I installed SP4 after the DSL
installation. The machine is relatively new, so I can't say for sure if the
Yahoo DSL started the whole problem. Either way, since the error is the
same as the KB article, I would have thought SP4 would have fixed the
problem. I will probably do what you suggested next.

Thanks again,

Bill
