MP3 Info Extension

Hello freeware fans,

Came across this in alt.music.mp3 today.

From their web site:
"The Icon-Handler makes new icons for MP3-files. Based on their bitrate,
you can see different icons. This is very useful, as you can see directly
in the explorer-view, which MP3s have good quality, and which do not. Below
you can see two screenshots, with the default icon-set. You can design your
own icons, and even make themes, so you can easily switch between different
icons."

I haven't used this myself (yet). Great idea in theory...actually would be
nice for any file to have an icon that graphically represents it's size in
relation to the hard drive. The screen shots at this URL might make more
sense to your eyes.

The author says this is 'giftware', although I saw no definition of this
anywhere. Sounds free!

I've been using this for a few years - it's great! The only problem is
that sometimes when you install a new program that associates itself
with MP3s, you lose it and I have found no way to get it back other than
re-installing it.

Double click on "My Computer", right click on 'C Drive" click on
"Properties", click on the "MP3-Info" tab, clcik on the "OK" button.
That usually restores the file association to MP3-Info, sometimes you
may need to reboot the system for the change to take affect.

Cool - thanks - I'll try that next time!
