Moving XP to a different drive

D

Daniel Prince

I am trying to migrate to Windows XP Home from 98 SE. Because I wanted
to be able to dual boot between XP and 98 I did a clean install on the
second partition on another drive (logical drive M:).

Since I am running low on drive space, I want to buy a new drive that is
bigger than the two I now use and format it with a fat32 primary
partition for Windows 98 and a few ntfs partitions for Windows XP.

Is there an easy way to move my Windows XP installation to the D:
logical drive on the new drive? Thank you in advance for all replies.

Have the second hd set as slave on the same IDE chain with C:,go to
run,type:XCOPY C:\*.* D:\ /c/h/e/r Then press enter or run.Agree to all
in the DOS window. When its thru, shutdown, reset jumper pins,Remember
though xp doesnt copy very well by design,if the drive wont boot-up etc.,
install xp cd,boot to cd,install xp,select, repair this copy of xp.
