Hi guys,

I had a lot of feedback from friends and customers about Vista, and one of
them is "Why" they should move to Vista.

As an IT guy I have my own opinion, but I try to identify the different good
reasons (technical or not) to advise people to move to this new version of
Windows.

As a Microsoft ISA MVP, I have a small web site where I share info with my
community... that would be great to have the opinion of all of you guys.

If you want to add your opinion, please visit this page :

.... you can answer in English of course !

Many thanks and happy news year !

Because Microsoft spent Millions of dollars on it. And if they can spend
Millions of dollars, than I can have the decency to install it!

the atomic bomb cost millions of dollars.. why don't you sit in the middle
of an explosion to get a tan then? LOL

as you can see that logic does not apply. Vista is bad

I was going to sit in the middle of the explosion but by the time my Vista
booted up, I missed my flight, the explosing took place and I missed it.
Damn.

I guess you are still waiting for the gui to come up. Write a letter to be
mailed
to your great great great grandson, to do the thing that you wanted to do
when it
finally starts....

the funny thing is that some people claim that vista is actually faster than
XP.

I left a thought on your blog. You might want to reply here with
instructions for English-only users on how to register so they can leave
comments. It took me a while to work it out since the site is in French.
Easy to use, but French.

Whether to move to Vista *now* or not is really the question. And the answer
differs according to one's needs. Vista has some incredible new technology
in it, technology which many people will not need, want, or understand for
years to come. It is an OS that both deals with the world of technology as
we know it, and anticipates the technology of the next 5 years or so. So,
for the average user, the upgrade may be years away. For someone like me, or
you, technology is our bread and butter, so it is advisable for us to move
into it. There are other less-technological users who will benefit from it
as well. The integration of the various current networking technologies with
communications and collaboration technology can be useful today in many
businesses. The graphics and media platform is a gamer's paradise.

I thought it would be good to respond here

Sure. But he's looking to liven up the discussion on his blog. Lord knows
we have enough threads going about "to Vista or not to Vista" on this ng.

In a few years time we will be saying XP, what a load of rubbish compared to
vista.
XP is alright, but after using vista for about six weeks I can say with hand
on heart I can not wait to buy it.

I have two computers that I use at home, one is running Vista RC2 and the other is my XP computer. I intend in upgraded the one running RC2 sometime in the Spring to the Home Premium. The other will always remain an XP computer.

Agreed, I removed XP from my system some time ago, been running Vista RC2 as
my primary (only!) OS since November. I've got some Xmas money saved up
ready for Jan 30th!

I don't know how you came to that conclusion from what I posted. I have two computers at home that I use;

Computer #1 - Running Vista RC2, will be upgraded to released version in the Spring.
Computer #2 - Running XP Pro with SP2, will not be upgraded.

Can I make that any more clear to some whose native language is English?
