Moving subweb to main web?

I understand with web spiders getting more complex and picky, that sometimes
a response.redirect or 301 relocate doesn't necessarily work. I know Google
doesn't like response.redirects.

Anyway, I have my entire site in a subweb. Can I move it to the main web so
that I do not have to have a response redirect or whatever on the
index/default page? Will it keep all the links, the shopping cart, the etc
etc etc going? Or is there another way to have Google and others follow the
page to the subweb?

Thanks a bunch!

What is the current URL?
What would be the new URL?

Ok, if www.demogoria.com/shop/ has been indexed by the search engines, then publishing it to
www.demogoria.com will break all link coming from the search engines.

I understand that. shop has not been indexed or crawled because there are no
links to it from the main page at the moment.

I am not worried about whether the search engine can see it, I am worried
about moving about 200-300 files worth of ASP code, images, and other stuff
to a different directory and worried about whether it will still function
after the move.

Thanks again.

That is something that only you can determine after you have moved it, as no one can actually see
any of the ASP code by looking at the site in a browser. If the site is coded using relative
hyperlinks and not absolute hyperlinks, then it should work without any problems. If someone else
setup the shopping cart, then it would be to talk with that person.
