Using TweakUI I moved the My Documents folder on my
computer to a dedicated volume for holding my entire
document hierarchy. I'd like to do the same with Program
Files and have a dedicated volume on which all my
applications are installed. Is is possible to do this? I
haven't found a way even with TweakUI, as a result a
number of programs got installed to my windows xp volume
(internet explorer, msn messenger and others). Can I
still move my Program Files somehow?

Programs cannot be moved to a different partition. You need to install them
using the original installation media.

I've done it successfully. Copy (not Move) the Program's folder and its subfolders to your desired location. Then get a hold of a program called COA2 (Change of Address) from PCMag Utilities (now by subscription only). I don't know if I would violate the copyright if I sent you the older version which was available for free. May be there are other freebies like that.
COA2 changes all the reference to the program to the new location. Just to make sure I would clightly alter the name of the original folder and test the new setup. If it works I would delete the original location.
