I use outlook as my e-mail and am having trouble bringing all my outlook info
from my 2000 outlook, Windows XP to my 2000 outlook Windows 2000 computer. I
have also tried exporting into excel which works good, but can not bring into
the other.
I gave the new computer to my daughter as she was using constantly.

I am trying to sync my sony handheld which has all outlook info from my
XPcomputer downstairs to Windowns 2000 upstairs. I have two problems one
which Intellisync has been trying to help me "function open msgstore failed"
everytime we try and sync

Goto the computer with the ORIGINAL Outlook
Goto my computer, click on tools, then folder options.
Click the VIEW tab and make sure SHOW HIDDEN FILES OR FOLDERS is selected.
Click OK to go back to MY COMPUTER.
GOTO: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

locate the PST file and copy it to a USB Flash Drive, or burn it to CD.
Those files can be quite large. mine is 300+mb

Make a NOTE of your mail settings (username, password, server, etc...)
Then once you have a copy of the file,
Goto the NEW computer
Goto my computer, click on tools, then folder options.
Click the VIEW tab and make sure SHOW HIDDEN FILES OR FOLDERS is selected.
Click OK to go back to MY COMPUTER.
GOTO: C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR USER NAME\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook
Rename your old file to "OUTLOOK.OLD"
Then COPY the file you saved to the Outlook folder.
Start Outlook.
You MAY have to re-configure your settings.

I hope this helps,

Shawn
