Hi. I need to make more space on my C:. I have admin rights to a computer
with 4 accounts and would like to move the folder (where xp puts everyone's
personal My Documents) to another partition. Is this move done globally or
am I supposed to go into everyone's account and change the folder location
there?

Also when I right click on My Documents it shows this as the location:
C:\Documents and Settings\Me\My Documents. If I just change the C: to a D:
would that folder be created on the spot? Or do I have to create that folder
first? Thanks.

Hi, I have done just this. You can move the folder yourself and then change
the target of the "My Documents" shortcut or you can change the shortcut
target and it should ask if you want to move the files to the new location.

If you have Admin rights you can move the "My Documents" folder for each
account I don't think you will be able to changethe shortcut target without
logging on to each account.

Hope this helps

There is a seperate My Documents for each user.
On the desktop rt click, properties, move to wherever, nothing else
required.
I believe you'd have to do so for each user/desktop

Go into each account, right click My Documents, and select Move
from the drop down list. Choose where to move it to, and you're
done.

My Documents folder is per-user. So you need to repeat the steps in the
other 3 user accounts.
