They, or the Program groups, should allready be shown in Start>Programs,
you've checked?

yes they do appear, but i would like to delete the icons from the
desktop and to remain only in the all programs

Simply delete the desktop icons, and when you next install an app, custom
install and untick the option to add desktop shortcuts

No problem then, Sonia. Just delete the shortcuts on your desktop.

They (and all other shortcut icons, denoted by the little curled arrow) are
just "relay buttons" to the real program file (presumably resident in
C:\Program Files\...) and their (the shortcuts) deletion from anywhere causes
NO actual "harm"; just an inconvenience, maybe, if you decide or discover
that you wished you had one of them back. But that, too, is very easily
remedied... in another thread. ;o)

I suggest you don't do that - it may create more clutter on the start
menu than you already have on your desktop.

Instead, if it were my computer, I would do this: Right-click on the
blank desktop and select "Create New Folder". Name that folder
"DesktopIcons", or whatever you like. Open and half-size the folder.
Drag all the icons you want into it. Close the folder. Then open My
Computer, and drag that folder to your C: drive. Drag a shortcut from
the icon folder itself to your desktop, and name the shortcut the same
things as you named the folder. Whenever you click on that shortcut, it
will open that folder, and you can choose the icon you want. Neater
desktop, all icons instantly available.

Why do the thing below? It's not needed and just complicates things.
