Moving from Yahoo mail to windows mail

I cannot import my yahoo mail account to windows mail. I have checked correct
account settings, windows mail is connecting, but timing out. Any ideas
anyone?

Where are you located? US residents with free Yahoo accounts
don't get POP access.
It would help if you included the complete failure message.

Im in the UK. The error message states 'your server has unexpectedly
terminated the connection. This may be due to server problems, network
problems or a long period of inactivity.' I have access to all my POP account
settings. Not sure whether im fighting a losing battle here........

Two suggestions:
1. Make sure your settings agree with this:

2. Windows Mail is incompatible with most McAfee and Norton
antivirus programs. If you are using either of those two, it is
best to uninstall it and replace it with a more compatible
antivirus, such as the free version of Avast:
