Hi,
We have an Intel server here where we installed Windows
2000 onto an "IDE" hard drive. We want to make an image of
the disk and lie the image down on a "SCSI" hard disk. The
problem is that we know already it won't boot.
First, becuase there is no SCSI driver installed onto the
image on the IDE disk. Second, becuase the boot.ini will
probably be incorrect. Is this correct so far?
Can we boot off of the IDE hard drive, and install the
SCSI driver to fix the first problem. Can we simply edit
the boot.ini to point to the SCSI disk to fix the second
problem? What else might we have to change to get the SCSI
disk to boot up from an image that was originally
installed onto and IDE hard disk? Can this be done?
Thanks,
Todd
