Moving DHCP server

Can a DHCP server be moved to another w2k server with a different name or
does the source and destination computers have to be the same names.
 
you can move it to a diff sever, with a diff IP.

However, if you are in a routed environment, you will need to update your
IPHelper Addresses on the routers so they can forward the DHCP Request
Packets to the correct location.

Hi,

Yes you can move a DHCP database from one server to another. They do not
have to have the same names. here's a KB article that explains the best way
