Moving app server to new server

We have terminal server # 1 in remote administration mode.
We have terminal server # 2 in application mode.
Both are Windows 2000 servers

If we want to have terminal server # 1 in application mode and terminal
server # 2 in remote administration mode, do we just need to uninstall
terminal server on terminal server # 1 and then reinstall it and select
application mode on the reinstall ? I'm assuming we will need to contact
Microsoft in order to activate it.

Thanks,

Ray

1. Can this be done? Yes.
2. Will you need to re-install und-user applications on the Terminal
Server? Yes
3. Is this the preferred method to install Terminal Server? Absolutely not.
4. What is the preferred method of TS Install? Clean Install of OS ->
Install TS -> Patch/SP -> Lockdown File System & Set Policies -> Customize
Default User Profile -> Backup (preferably image based)-> Install Software
(in install mode) -> Backup (preferably image based) -> Test -> Install
Software Package #2...
5. You will not need to re-activate anything if the TSLS is on a server
other than these two, i.e. on a DC.
